St. Nicholas School provides a safe and secure environment. All school doors are locked throughout the day, with visitors able to gain admittance only through the front entrance of the school at the discretion of the staff. Upon admittance to the school, all visitiors sign in and are given a visitor's badge.
St. Nicholas School believes that an appropriate Dress Code is important in educating our students. Therefore, our students are required to wear a school uniform and our parents are happy to alleviate those early morning clothing hassles!
Yes, students living within range are encouraged to engage in physical activity which coincides with our wellness plan by walking to and from school when conditions permit. Struthers residents are to contact the Struthers Board of Education (330-750-1061) for details concerning busing. Youngstown residents are to contact the Youngstown City Schools Transportation Department (330-744-5906) for specific details of the routes, pick-up/drop-off locations, and times designated per rider. Residents living outside the Struthers/Youngstown boundaries should contact the school district of residence for information regarding busing to and from St. Nicholas School.
At St. Nicholas School, children have the option of packing their own lunch from home or ordering lunch from our hot lunch program, which offers healthy meals every school day. The Lunch Menu is published on a monthly basis. As always, parent volunteers are welcomed and appreciated. Many parents choose to volunteer in the cafeteria or at recess because it offers a great opportunity to come in, lend a hand and see their children with their friends during the school day.
Saint Nicholas School offers an After-Care program from 2:10pm-5:30pm.
Yes, The nurse is available daily from 10am until 1pm for medical services as well as screenings determined by the school.
